Turkmenistan is located in the south of Central Asia, on the coast of the Caspian Sea. It has three main rivers: Ceyhun, Tejen and Murgab. The population estimates of the country are around 6 million. Turkmen Turkish is the official language of the country. Uzbek Turkish and Russian are other commonly used languages. In 2020, it realized 8 billion dollars of exports and 3 billion dollars of imports. It has established the closest commercial relations with Turkey, Russia, China, Germany and Japan. Turkey realized 787 million dollars of exports to Turkmenistan in 2019. The main products exported from Turkey to Turkmenistan are; iron or steel construction and construction components, insulated wires, cables and electrical conductors, prefabricated structures and furniture. Turkey imported 319 million dollars from Turkmenistan in 2018. The main products imported from Turkmenistan to Turkey are; cotton yarn, nitrogenous mineral or chemical fertilizers, copper and petroleum oils. The trade volume between the two countries exceeded 1.1 billion dollars in 2020.
